Breitung Township Schools is pleased to announce that the official 2025-2026 District Calendar is now available for families, staff, and community members.

The new calendar outlines key dates for the upcoming school year, including the first day of school on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, and the last day of school on Thursday, June 4, 2026 (with early dismissal). It also includes important information such as:

  • Professional Development Days (no school for students)

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences

  • Holiday Breaks

  • Marking Period and Trimester End Dates

  • Spring and Fall Count Days

  • Special School Closures, including Deer Day and Memorial Day

The calendar ensures that the district meets the state’s requirement of 180 instructional days (175 student contact days + 5 MDE professional development days).

We encourage all families to download and review the calendar to help plan vacations, appointments, and other activities around the school schedule.

Breitung Township Schools Families:

We’re excited to share a new opportunity to help with grocery costs this summer! Through Michigan’s Sun Bucks (Summer EBT) program, eligible families can receive $120 per child to buy groceries during the summer months.

Some families will automatically receive benefits, while others may need to apply. If you’re unsure, it’s worth checking to see if your child qualifies—especially if your household receives SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, or free/reduced-price school meals.

Visit our district’s information page to learn more and see how to apply:  https://www.kingsford.org/administration/food-service-1/sun-bucks

Don’t miss out—support is available to help ensure every student has access to nutritious food this summer!

Sincerely,

The BTS Communication Team

Kingsford High School is excited to offer a summer Volleyball Youth Camp designed especially for students entering 4th and 5th grade. The camp will take place June 9–12 at the Kingsford Middle School gym and provides a great opportunity for young athletes to learn the fundamentals of volleyball in a fun, supportive environment.

The camp will run daily from 9:00 to 10:30 AM and costs $45 per student. Participants will be coached by members of the Kingsford High School volleyball team and coaching staff, offering students a chance to build skills, make new friends, and gain confidence on the court.

This camp is ideal for both beginners and those who have some experience and want to keep building their abilities. The focus will be on skill development, teamwork, and enjoying the game in a structured setting.

Families can register online at https://flivver.info/vb25. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
